Frequently asked questions

Tradesperson

Who are Kanda?

Kanda was started by an electrician from Worcestershire named Richard. He was frustrated to quote for work only to find out that customers didn’t have any way to pay. He didn’t just want more work — he wanted better work — and quality customers. We help hundreds of tradespeople to find better work and offer their customers finance.

How does this affect me and my business?

There is very minimal impact to the way you currently operate your business and how you interact with Howdens.

You will quote for work in exactly the same way in cooperation with your Howdens depot Kitchen Design Specialists.

If your customer opts to pay for their goods with finance, you will receive an email from Kanda asking you to confirm the materials and price are correct as well as providing your bank details for payment.

Upon delivery of the Howdens goods you will be paid in full and it is then your responsibility to pay off the balance of your Howdens account.

Am I at risk?

No, the introduction of finance is made by Howdens - as a result you as the tradesperson bear no risk concerning loan defaults - think of it as no different to a cash/card sale.

How do I get paid?

You are paid in full for the Howdens materials within 3 working days after the initial delivery - straight into the bank account with the details you provide.

What happens if the customer stops paying?

Nothing, there is no risk to you or your business if the customer defaults on their loan and stops making payment.
